Eliot Porter is an American Photographer who is well known for taking colourful and bright photos of nature, especially a lot with forests. After looking at a lot of his work, I realised that I could do something similar with the forests near me and develop my idea of reflection in nature further.
I like these photos because the colours show in this photo looks like they are all from the same side of the colour wheel. This creates a soothing and calming sensation on the viewer because there is no sharpness from different colours and textures. Additionally, I like how when you look through the photo, there are just more and more trees making the forest look like it never stops.
I like this photo because of all of the vibrant colours, making the photo seem more playful, making me think of childhood and how it was so peaceful and fun. Also, I like how all of the colours mix in with each other to create an interesting ombre gradient affect. The tree trunks are a very dark brown, nearly black colour which helps them stand out even further compared to the bright and colourful leaves.
I like this photo a lot because it looks like an abstract oil painting with all of the different colours washing into each other and making the reflection look blurred. I took a lot of inspiration from this photo because it presents nature through reflection. This photo helps me think more outside the box instead of just taking clear photos, I could take more abstract ones and show more creativity.
